Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located in northern Tanzania's Great East African Rift Valley, features the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, which is home to Africa's densest concentration of wild species.
Over 30,000 mammals, half of which are rangy wildebeests and well-rounded zebras, along with their many predators, lordly lions, swift cheetahs, stealthy leopards, opportunist jackals, and skulking hyenas, form a compelling destination for wildlife safaris in Tanzania, spread across 260 square kilometers (100 square miles) of varied micro-climates.
The Serengeti ecosystem includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which was divided from the Serengeti National Park in 1959 to allow man and his wildlife neighbors to live in peace.
